ROS – Extension of Pay & File deadline 2020
Revenue has confirmed the extended Pay and File deadline for taxpayers who file and pay income tax via ROS as Thursday, 12 November 2020. This is also the deadline date for taxpayers wishing to backdate pension contributions to 2019 for income tax relief purposes. The 2019 Form 11 return must be filed online by this date along with the balance of income tax for 2019, pension contributions for 2019 and preliminary tax for 2020.
This deadline also applies to Capital Acquisitions Tax returns and payments made via ROS for gifts and inheritances with valuation dates in the year ended 31 August 2019.
Clients must both pay and file through ROS to qualify for the extension otherwise the due date is 31 October 2020.
