Shaw is a partner in the firm’s audit and assurance department. He joined the practice in August 2019 having previously been a partner for 11 years in a long-established local chartered accountancy firm.

A fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor, Shaw also has a Diploma in Forensic Accounting and a Certificate in Personal Insolvency.

Over his career, Shaw has gained a wealth of experience providing audit, accountancy, tax and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of Irish and international private and corporate clients. He has expertise in forensic accounting, Revenue settlements, personal and corporate tax compliance, due diligence and insolvency and debt restructuring.

His sectoral experience includes IT, hospitality, design, manufacturing and distribution, property, investment, renewable energy, oil and gas exploration and the not-for-profit sector.

Shaw’s approach is to build long-lasting relationships with clients by investing the time to fully understand their approach, their businesses and the sectors in which they operate.

He is a great believer in regularly meeting clients face-to-face at their place of business so he can observe their businesses evolve in real time, and gauge the culture within their organisations.

Shaw combines his commercial acumen and technical expertise with a personal and proactive approach to add real value to his clients’ businesses. He excels at identifying and implementing solutions for the challenges his clients face to help them achieve their personal and business goals.

Outside of work, Shaw is married with a young daughter. He enjoys family life and maintains his life-long passions for music and literature. He also enjoys socialising, meeting new people, travel, fine dining, Pilates, walking and generally keeping fit.

At one point I considered the merits of teaching or journalism as a career, but decided to train as an accountant following a conversation with my father’s cousin who was a chartered accountant. She extolled the virtues of the profession and felt I would be a good fit. Happily, I think she was right.
